Cancelled tonight due to weather! Birth Trauma Support Group
February 2, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Please join us for the Mothers Healing Together Birth Trauma healing and support series! Our format is to meet once a month for a six-month cycle. Our first two meetings are “open” meetings in that all interested women are welcome and after that the meetings “close” so to create a safe and nurturing space for the months to come and heal together. Each meeting will begin with a centering moment and sharing time, and then move into our topic of the month. We will use art, talking, music, movement, and writing to help with exploration and healing. Please bring a journal to our first session together as we will use it throughout our time together.
starts Tuesday, January 5th, offered the First Tuesday of every month for 6 months, $200 for entire series. Try the first session for $20, pay the remainder if you decide to continue.
Facilitated by Pamela L., who lives in Broomfield, CO with her husband, three sons, and four pets. She decided in the fall of 2009, while pregnant with her second child, that she wanted to start a birth trauma support group for women after she herself was in need of birth trauma support after the birth of her first child. She believes in the power of birth and women and, by creating this support group, she hopes to help other women understand themselves and their feelings better so as to recapture the power of childbirth and the power inside themselves. Pamela was the Rally Coordinator for the Rally to Improve Birth in Washington D.C. and then co-coordinated the event last September in Denver. She is an active member of both the International Cesarean Network of Denver as well as the Holistic Moms Network, is a La Leche League leader in Boulder, and was a contributing writer for Giving Birth with Confidence, a birth blog run by Lamaze International. She has a BA in International Studies and worked as a government consultant as well as a preschool teacher prior to staying home with her children.
